UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. Consultant – MS Azure DevOps
BACKGROUND
UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a MS Azure DevOps Consultant to provide guidance, knowledge and hands-on participation in the implementation of MS Azure DevOps in UNRWA. The consultant will be required to work onsite with different IT experts to plan, execute and document the implementation of DevOps and also to provide on the job-training training and post-consultancy services. The end objective to be achieved is to have a smoothly running DevOps on Azure Cloud managing the core DevOps processes (version control, CI/CD, etc.) for a couple of UNRWA applications.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
● Automating software life cycle processes through the definition of applications, tasks, roles, users and workflows. Main processes to be automate are version control, testing & QA, building and deployment. The general description of processes will be provided by UNRWA;
● Integrating infrastructure automation (automating the provision of infrastructure);
● Automating software testing and provisioning of test data and improving testing quality while incorporating multi testing stages (internal testing, UAT);
● Monitoring and reporting on application KPIs especially in the areas of quality and turnaround times;
● Providing professional advice on DevOps licensing modes and issues;
● Overseeing the implementation of the above on one or two UNRWA software applications to be used as a pilot;
● Documenting UNRWA’s DevOps configuration and operational instructions;
● Providing on-the-job training for a group of UNRWA staff members.
minimum Qualifications and Experience
● A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline;
● A minimum of 5 years of experience in the implementation of DevOps services, of which one must be in the implementation of Microsoft DevOps technologies;
● Good command of spoken and written English.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
● The duration of the consultancy is 2-3 months.
● Remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
● The incumbent will be based in Amman, Jordan.
