VIDEOGRAPER CONSULTANCY - TERMS OF REFERENCE
UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions.
Consultancy - Videographer
BACKGROUND
The Strategic Partnerships Division of the External Relations Department of UNRWA focuses on fostering stronger global partnerships with corporations, foundations, NGOs and individuals who wish to support Palestine refugees. The Division is seeking the services of a professional videographer to produce high quality videos that highlight UNRWA’s partnerships. These videos may include footage of the delivery of UNRWA services in any of its five fields of operation.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
● Film enough footage in multiple locations to complete a short video;
● Edit footage to align with a script prepared by UNRWA;
● Provide a clean version of the video;
● Provide version of the video with subtitles in English, Arabic and possibly other languages;
● Provide background music on the video if required;
● Provide UNRWA with an Ultra HD version for TV use;
● Provide UNRWA with all the footage.
minimum Qualifications and Experience
● A university degree from an accredited educational institution in any field or a technical degree in video production;
● At least 2 years of experience in videography;
● Fluency in spoken and written English.
COMPETENCIES
● Strong planning and organizing skills;
● Good communications skills;
● Ability to work under pressure;
● Creativity.
dESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
● Previous experience with UNRWA, other UN agency;
● Fluency in spoken and written Arabic;
● Experience working in the Middle East;
● Able to travel to UNRWA fields including Gaza.
Additional information
● The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency's area of operations in the Middle East.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
· The duration of the consultancy is based on the agreed upon deliverables.
· Remuneration for this consultancy will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate;
· The incumbent will be based in the country of residence.
