UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. Consultant – Business Intelligence Specialist, HQ Gaza (Local)
BACKGROUND
UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist who will be responsible for building analysis services reporting models, connecting to data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence solutions.
The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to Head, Enterprise Arch & Business Intelligence Unit (HQ-Amman).
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
· Design and development for the Data warehouse dimensional model according to the provided business requirements;
· Design and development for the OLAP Database using SSAS database objects;
· Deployment and configuration packages for all created work components;
· Oversee design and development for reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using MS Power BI;
· Build Analysis Services reporting models;
· Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards;
· Develop documentation, training materials and conduct training sessions when needed;
· Understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources;
· Perform other IMT related duties as required.
minimum Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
· At least five years’ work experience in software applications development and implementation including two years at a senior level.
· Experience in design Reports and Dashboards using Microsoft Power BI connecting to OLAP cubes or any other data sources;
· Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, or SSIS.
· Experience in design cubes for the provided complex business requirements;
· Experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence Architecture;
· Experience in Microsoft SQL Server Architecture;
· Experience in end to end Microsoft Business Intelligence Implementation projects;
· Experience in writing MDX /DMX expression for Microsoft Analysis Services.

dESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
· Knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc;
· Experience in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects.
· Familiarity with ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
· The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
· Remuneration for this consultancy will be around 1,600 USD and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the consultant.
· The incumbent will be based in Gaza.
